The Golden Time of Day

Ashley

So this one is important but will mean something different to everyone who takes the time reads this one. One of my favorite songs is Maze & Frankie Beverly - Golden time of day. This song not only reminds me of my father (it's been a rough couple of days) but it reminds me of the importance of finding and keeping a routine. Whether you're a part of the 5 am club or you're in bed before the sun goes down. I have several routines throughout my day. My morning routine consists of prayer, meditation, and journaling. If I am lucky, I can squeeze in a few stretches before my kid walks in to make me start my day bright and earlier than planned (LOL - parents of toddlers will understand this one). My day since it involves getting the kid ready varies greatly by day but lately, I am finding that my attempts to wake before him really make my days that much sweeter. My afternoons thrive without work meetings, my afternoon walk, and my beats on my favorite playlist. My evenings - well that's another story for later - but most days, they always end with a cup of hot tea, journaling, and meditation or my newfound passion - Her Humble Pen.

What I am most thankful for is being able to find what works for me in my situation. Everyone is different. Think of our brains as well-oiled machines and what time you are most productive. Are you a morning, afternoon, or evening person? What shift do you tend to work? You've probably heard that "morning people" are more productive than "night owls." But what if you're neither? What if you're a morning person who works better at night? Or vice versa? Time of day affects productivity in surprising ways. In this article, we'll look at the different time slots with their own unique advantages and disadvantages—and show how you can use them to your advantage.

So back when I thought I wanted to be a teacher, I went to a training day full of seminars on child development. The facilitator really opened my eyes when she pointed out about being out of routine and how drastically kids can misbehave in chaotic environments. What really grabbed my attention was when she pointed out that as adults, when we are out of routine, also have days where we're not our usual selves. Your morning cup of coffee is bitter and stale, your parking spot was taken and now you're at the far end of the parking lot with 3 bags because we're being conscious budgeting adults. On average, most would vote that this day would need an urgent restart. The thing is, kids often cannot verbalize what is going on. We as adults will verbalize it but will often tend to remain crabby until it's time to go home and lay down. Now take a moment to visualize your perfect morning. It's nice and quiet, your clothes are not wrinkled, you get your fav cup of chai and it's the perfect blend of sweet and creamy. The drive to work is smooth and there are no maniacs going 90. Sounds like a pretty good day. What was the difference?

Having a routine is key. Everything going to plan and accepting that not every day will be perfect. Although the Golden time of day does not necessarily reflect on your morning commutes and hot beverages it does help you identify your perfect time of day for productivity.

If you want to be the most productive and happy person possible, you need to know when's the best time of day for you. This article will cover everything from how your brain operates in different states to which activities are best suited for each part of the day.

It all comes down to your genes: they dictate how much energy each part of your body has at a given hour. For example, people who are morning people have more dopamine (which makes them feel alert) right after waking up than those who are night owls do at midnight!

This pattern repeats itself throughout the day: between 8 pm-9 pm both groups have high levels of serotonin (which helps us sleep soundly) but by 11 pm it's been used up so we're wide awake with no chance of falling asleep any time soon (unless you grab some melatonin). So which one are you?

Morning Person

You are a morning person. It's okay, you can admit it. I am too! Morning people have a lot going for them:

  • They are more likely to be healthy and wealthy than their night owl counterparts. This means that when you switch on your alarm clock at 6 AM, you're actually setting yourself up for success in life—and that's pretty cool

  • Morning people are also happier and more successful than their nocturnal counterparts. Morning people work harder, longer hours than those who like to sleep in (and they get paid better). When you wake up early enough in the morning, your brain has been awake all night long and has had time to process everything you did during the day before falling asleep—so there's potential here for an actual improvement in your mood and overall productivity once everyone else is finally awake with you!

Afternoon Person

If you're an afternoon person, you're more likely to be extroverted, productive, and a night owl.

You'll also probably be a morning person.

But the question is: which one of those things is true? This is probably news to you too.

Evening Person

If you are an evening person, you might be more likely to be an introvert. In a study of people with extreme sleep schedules (going to bed and waking up at unusual times), it was found that those who were night owls were more likely to be introverts.

In addition to being more introverted, evening people tend to have higher IQs and rate themselves as creative. They also have lower body mass indexes (BMI), which can indicate better health overall.

What's Your Golden Time of Day?

  • Do you like to wake up at the crack of dawn, or do you prefer to snooze for as long as possible?

  • Are you a morning person, or is it afternoon that makes your heart sing?

  • Do people who say they're "night owls" actually mean they just don't want to work in the mornings? Or are they really just nocturnal creatures who would rather be awake when everyone else is asleep?

  • Can a person be born an early bird, or does it take effort to become one? Is there such a thing as being too late for your own good?

Before I get into the important stuff, I need to tell you to go try out Amazon Music Unlimited. Not only do they have playlists specially created for you but there are songs released that you cannot find on other platforms. I really love to listen to the Silky Soul Music: All

Star Tribute to Maze ft Frankie Beverly. I provided the links below for your convenience. My evening routine now consists of this CD with a cup of tea. It is just soulful and relaxing. Perfect for blogging as well :)

Time management is the best way to increase your productivity.

Time management is a skill that can be learned, improved, and mastered. It's also one you can use in any career field or industry. The ability to manage your time effectively is essential for being productive at work, but it also applies to other areas of your life as well—like school or even just going out with friends.

Time management allows you to get more done in less time by prioritizing your activities and setting goals for yourself. Prioritization lets you know what tasks are most important so they get done first while following through on those goals keeps them from slipping through the cracks later on down the road!

It's important to set aside time each day (or week) for planning out what needs doing next so things don't pile up; this helps prevent procrastination too! If nothing else then at least make sure each day has its own routine so there's never any confusion about where we should be focusing our attention when we get up in the morning. A daily planner is a great tool to help you stay organized and on track with your daily tasks; if nothing else then at least make sure each day has its own routine so there's never any confusion about where we should be focusing our attention when we get up in the morning!

Conclusion

If you want to be more productive and make the most of your day, then it’s important to know when you do your best work. If you’re a morning person, then try waking up earlier than usual to get some work done before everyone else does. If you’re an evening person, then consider staying up later so that you can be well rested when others need help with their projects or have questions about their assignments.

"People let me tell you, There's a time in your life When you find who you are

That's the golden time of day, And in your mind, you will find

You're a bright shining star When you feel deep inside

All the love you're looking for, Don't it make it feel okay, yes

Like the time of the day, When the sun is going down

That's the golden time of day."

Make sure you take a moment to listen to this song... until next time.
